Terrible customer service. I phoned to ask a question about the dining package and the representative sold me a specialty package while cancelling the ultimate package I already had, without my consent. After realizing the mistake, the company had NO solution, only that I was out of luck and now have to pay for the second inferior dining package I was upsold. No apology and no refund. Just an extra charge. Beware!

2 days agoMy cruise is actually next week 9/9/2024 but the experience thus far has been abysmal.
I booked a cruise 9 months in advance for our wedding anniversary. Our 4 primary school aged kids are coming along. We requested interconnecting rooms, and at the least adjoining rooms. This was all noted in our file. We paid hundreds of dollars extra at booking to have a choice of room. There was no choice of room. Instead we have been assigned 2 rooms 2 decks apart. I have been in contact several times and they claim there is nothing that they can do as "rooms are randomly assigned at the ships discretion" and that I might want to consider paying extra to upgrade the rooms - but of course there would be no guarantee. The last email ended with "It has been a pleasure to address your inquiry". What a joke! This is our first cruise and we can't fathom how bad the service could be.

26 reviews 26 Aug 2024We went on a cruise to the Norwegian fjords in August 2024 with the Jewel of the Seas of Royal Caribbean, departing and arriving in Amsterdam. The trip started unexpectedly badly because an action group blocked the locks of IJmuiden and, after a very long wait without any information and not even a bottle of water, we were taken to IJmuiden by bus.
Our balcony cabin was really small. The self-service restaurant on deck 11 was always overcrowded with long waiting times. The main restaurant on deck 4 was also very full and noisy.
On the day before our departure to Alesund, we were suddenly informed that this port would not be visited, which meant that we would have an extra day in Amsterdam!! How do you want to be cheated?
So never cruise with the Royal Caribbean again. No service for a lot of money!

6 days agoSteel yourself to fend-off the up-sellers, and whatever you do, don't lose your luggage.
My recent cruise has been severely tainted by Royal Caribbean's after-sale experience regarding lost luggage. They outsource their lost & found to a company called Chargerback who are faceless and uncontactable. The fact of the matter is that my suitcase would have been left in luggage-collection on the day of my disembarkation but one week later, my automated updates are saying that they are still looking for it.
This is synonymous with Royal Caribbean's endless quest to cut corners and make an extra buck. This is my third RC cruise and I endlessly found myself fending off people trying to upsell me packages on the ship or covertly handing me seemingly free products and then trying to charge my state room (beware the orange juice in the Windjammer!!).
I am frutstrated with RC to the extent that I don't think I'll be considering them for my next cruise

Updated 24 Aug 2024I haven't even started the cruise and I have concerns. I am getting messages on the app advising of discounts and when I try to reserve it gives me an error message. I called them to request they put order through at advertised price. I was advised as I had not taken screenshot of both order and error message they cannot honour this.
It has happened again today. I have taken screenshot of both order and error. It should be interesting when I call Them.
I'm thinking honour is maybe not a word familiar to them.
George.

26 Aug 2024I recently returned from a cruise on the Liberty of the Seas and wanted to share some feedback on our experience.
Overall, our trip had its highlights and challenges. While we had a wonderful experience on our first cruise with Royal Caribbean, this second trip had a few issues that impacted our enjoyment. We encountered difficulties with how our 22-month-old daughter was addressed during a dining experience, which left us feeling distressed. Additionally, the
pool area’s age restrictions created separation within our family, making it challenging to enjoy pool time together.

24 Aug 2024Terrible humans in guest service . Especially SAVIO LOPES who tells customers how they should feel and dismisses their concerns. Don’t go on this boat. He endorses ignoring customer concerns , bugs hair and objects in food , and dirty rooms as acceptable . And his boss IRFRAN his boss also endorses such bad behaviors. They role model their behavior for other bad staff like AHMAD IRSAD and the condescending ANASTASIIA MAKAROVA. They treated my family and I like criminals for holding them accountable for bad service and Anastasia and team stated “we know about you! And your family” it was very disheartening and greatly disrupted our vacation experience . I need someone from Royal to contact me and seriously consider firing such horrible staff. I am thinking about not cruising with Royal again !

23 Aug 2024I booked a cruise a year in advance was never told that my deposit was nonrefundable. I
am now attempting to cancel my reservation a month later-still a year before the actual cruise mind you and Royal Caribbean is refusing to refund me my deposit! What a scam! i’m calling from the US and I can also never get a US representative on the line-even when I request one. It’s always someone foreign that I have a hard time understanding. It's an infuriating experience. I would never recommend using Royal Caribbean and will never book a cruise with them again!

14 Aug 2024e cruise is a good option for the summer. In fact, there are many activities and places that can be visited, but there is something that could be changed, which would be the theme of the disco. Something that I don't find right is that the ship is not very dedicated to minors. 18 at night because the only club that opens after 12 is completely prohibited entry to minors under 18 even if you don't consume halcol and I don't see it fair that if you are 5 years old or younger you can enter the casino freely and bet you are of the age that You have because I have seen more than one minor gamble in the casino and those who are supposed to be the security guards don't say anything. It seems sad to me that you can't go to the nightclub to have a good time being a minor but if you bet money it would be fine. Please change some things, thank you very much

12 reviews 8 Aug 2024I wanted our family to go on their 1st cruise with Royal carribean as an unforgettable experience.
Interesting how their cruises will cost you an arm and a leg, and the pricing strategy of onboard credit just puts prices up. Considering the cost of living, the prices are extortionate.
Families especially during the summer and festive holidays are being ripped off.
I called customer reservations to be given Silly pricing of £2000+ per person for an inside cabin. Then add on the cost of flights and transfers, drinks package, Internet package and extras. Shocking!! Their cruises will leave you out of pocket. No wonder ships are not sailing at full capacity. Royal carribean need to do better!!

14 Aug 2024I have given Royal Caribbean well over 100k. I cancelled one cruise 33 days out due to a separation from my wife. I lost $8400. I did not complain but when I asked if the $4000 in excursions would be cancelled, I was told it was automatically done. I told the man no it is not because I have had to do this in the past. I was assured it would happen. Today, three weeks later, Royal customer service cannot understand how it happened. I know. You either have incompetent people or this is a policy. I will never cruise with them again. You feel like cattle. Prices go up, service goes way down. It is the American way these days.

10 Aug 2024I was on jewel of the seas, I don't complain against the ship but against Royal Caribbean. Because a problem in the port of Amsterdam we arrive at Imuiden. They managed the situation in a way that is unacceptable. Few complimentary buses and a lot of confusion. They were in an hurry to get the passenger off of the ship. No care for passenger needs.

Updated 30 Jul 2024Booked a cruise to Alaska though trip a deal. On Brilliance of the seas. My husband is 65 and I have health issues. This could potentially be my last holiday. We could not choose our cabin and was put in a cabin next to the live music that plays from 11am until midnight. So I can got no rest or sleep.
No consideration for your guess. Extremely disappointed.

27 Aug 2024I travelled with a group, but I had my own "stateroom". Interior cabin. I didnt intend to spend much time in the stateroom, so I figured it would be ok.
7 days on Freedom Of the Seas. Overall not good value for me, so I wont be repeating this experience in a hurry.
I was convinced I had bought a drinks package, but found when I got on the ship I was not registered for a drinks package. I bought a drinks package on the ship, which was more expensive.
Restaurants. The Windjammer was very busy from 7.30am to 9.00am. If you waited after 9am you could more easily find a seat. Wide choice of breakfast food items.
The fine dining restaurant, where food was bought to your table experience wasn't popular with my group. We found the food average. I enjoy Michelin starred restaurants and this was not it. I paid for the Chef's table and didn't enjoy the courses. Quite bland.
I also tried the Izumi experience. The special fried rice was good. The scallops and lobster were average.
On cruise days, competition for space on the decks was severe. Difficult to get a space. The pools were small. With only a few people in, but they got filled up quickly. Standing room only. It is impossible to swim in them.
Excursions. I found most poor value.
13/08/2024 Nassau. This trip took us to Paradise island. 45 mins to return to the bus. To look at the Aquarium you have to get a day pass, which costs $250. The guide didnt mention that at all. We were unable to view the aquarium.
A trip to a rum and chocolate factory and to a hill top fort completed the trip.
15/08/2024 I went on the Montego Bay trip. We were taken to a gift shop, which was overpriced and spent way to long there. I think it was 45 mins. Considering we had a few hours on shore, this was waste of time. The jerk chicken meal, was bland and consisted of a piece of chicken and a fried dumpling.
The beach at Montego Bay was ok.
16 Aug 2024 Cayman Islands. We went to Hell. I would rather have visited the Turtle Centre or Rum point beach. Instead we were driven around some rather non descript areas.
We have to pay for these trips and I found them rushed and poor value. I would recommend researching interesting spots prior to your cruise and getting a local to take you to specific places.
I spent a further week in a Caribbean Island after my cruise. I returned to the UK today and found I was unable to submit my Royal Caribbean review as it had closed. Looks like you have to submit reviews immediately after the cruise has ended.
